EVAN KIM

Evan was born and grew up in South Korea and spent most of his time there. Coming from a family of musicians, becoming one himself was inevitable. He started studying cello at the age of 10 and began to fall in love with the cello and as well as the music. He pursued his love for music at Dankook University in South Korea. During his studies, he was taught and inspired by one of greatest Korean cellists, Hee-Jin Paik. Evan moved to Calgary after being discharged from two year military service back in 2017. Currently, he is a cellist in the Calgary Korean Orchestra, and participates in various ensemble and orchestras. Evan is excited to continue playing music in Calgary and looks forward to participating in more orchestral communities and promoting more music culture in Calgary.
