DAVE NATHANAEL

ABOUT DAVE

Dave Nathanael is a violin teacher/pedagogue & an orchestra/ensemble violinist who started piano when he was 5. He started violin seriously during his B.Mus in Music Education at Pelita Harapan Conservatory in Indonesia (Dr. Tomislav Dimov) after winning The SPH-International Violin Competition, and in his M.Mus in Violin Performance & Pedagogy at Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada (Dr. Nancy Dahn).
He founded Centro Virtuoso, a violin music school that has branches in Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Singapore, USA, & soon Germany. As a Suzuki-certified violin teacher, he teaches based on the Suzuki Method.
Dave’s orchestral journey started when he was invited by Jakarta Concert Orchestra in Indonesia (currently Asst. Concertmaster). Then, he was invited to play with Jakarta Simfonia, Nusantara Symphony, Jakarta Sinfonietta (Asst. CM), & a few others. He played with world-class artists, like Adam Gyorgy, Sam Haywood, Linus Roth, & Amsterdam Viola Quartet.
Dave was invited to be the soloist for a children concert in the beautiful Aula Simfonia Jakarta Hall, & represented Indonesia at ‘III-Красноярский международный музыкальный фестиваль стран Азиатско- Тихоокеанского региона’ music festival in Russia.
Music brings him around the globe.
He played in Singapore: Baroque Collegium Singapore Ensemble (Assoc. CM), Australia: Brisbane Concert, Brisbane Philharmonic, & Brisbane Concert Orchestras, & Canada: Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra.
His enthusiasm in ensemble & chamber music leads him to co-establish professional ensembles in countries he lives in. Now, he’s here in Calgary, Canada!
